Hi, I'm Jano (pronounced Yano). I spent more than 18 years working in fast-paced academic environments, and I learned firsthand what it's like to be caught up in the rush of it — achieving, producing, pushing forward — while something quieter inside starts to drift.

Maybe that resonates with you. You're busy, capable, likely a deep thinker. But underneath the schedules there's something unresolved — a heaviness, a question, a feeling you haven't had time to fully notice.

I'm a Registered Psychologist and certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher. I'd describe my style as existential and thinky, and I work best with people who'd say the same about themselves — intense thinkers and reflective types — such as hard-working professionals, researchers, writers, social or health care practitioners, and people who just can’t keep up the frantic living. Whether you’re still trapped in the rat race, or actually looking for the nearest exit, we can work together to slow down enough to actually look at what's there.

I'm not offering quick fixes. I'm interested in helping you understand the hard but rewarding and lifelong work of discovering what actually matters to you.

I do not treat eating disorders directly, but would be happy to support clients with mindfulness, compassion and resiliency skills. My areas of expertise include grief and loss, stress management, burnout prevention or recovery, emotion regulation, and relationship issues.
