Many clients come to therapy feeling unable to create change. They often experience a quiet tug-of-war inside—one part yearning for something different, another part unable to let go of what feels familiar or protective.
Using an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, I help clients gently explore the parts of them that feel stuck, self-critical, or hesitant, recognizing that each part has been trying to help in its own way. Rather than forcing change, we slow down and get curious. I integrate somatic awareness to check in with your body’s cues, ensuring we move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. My style is compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgmental, honouring you as the expert of your own inner world.
My name is Margaret and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I earned my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia. I specialize in supporting adults and youth struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating, body image concerns, trauma, and relationship challenges. For the past few years I supported clients working toward eating disorder recovery at the Looking Glass Foundation.

Working with me is an invitation to slow down and come home to yourself. I strive to create a space that feels warm, steady, and deeply respectful—where you can exhale a little and allow yourself to be fully human. I am continually moved by the courage it takes to share your story, and I hold that vulnerability with care. In our work together, you are not a problem to be solved, but a person to be understood. I see you as the expert in your own experience, and I approach our relationship collaboratively, through an anti-oppressive and intersectional lens, so that every part of your identity and lived experience feels welcomed and honored.
I am grounded in the belief that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with you. The parts of you that feel anxious, critical, protective, or conflicted have developed for good reasons. Rather than trying to silence or push them away, we gently turn toward them with curiosity and compassion. As we build safety and trust, these parts often soften, allowing you to access a deeper sense of clarity, connection, and self-leadership. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are, but the heart of my work is relational—creating a space where you feel deeply seen, heard, and supported. My hope is that through our work, you begin to trust yourself more fully and move through your life with greater authenticity, steadiness, and self-compassion.
