Affordable, Professional Counselling
Delivered by Doctoral Practicum Students Who Are Already Registered Clinical Counsellors
At Being and Becoming Counselling and Wellness Services, we’re proud to offer reduced-cost counselling delivered by doctoral-level practicum students who are already Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs). This unique program provides high-quality, research-informed therapy at a fraction of the standard cost—without compromising the care you receive.
Why Choose Our Reduced-Cost Counselling Program?
Advanced Training, Backed by Experience
This isn’t entry-level therapy. Your counsellor is already a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)—a designation that reflects clinical competence, ethical training, and real-world experience. Now, they’re expanding that expertise through doctoral-level education at a highly accredited institution.
Supervision by a Registered Psychologist
All sessions are conducted under the direct supervision of a Registered Psychologist, ensuring you benefit from multiple layers of expertise.
Access to Evidence-Based, Up-to-Date Care
Doctoral training programs from accredited universities emphasize the highest standards in clinical science, cultural competency, and ethical practice. You benefit from:
The latest psychological research
Refined assessment and intervention skills
A commitment to lifelong learning and excellence
High-Quality Counselling at Reduced Cost
Because sessions are part of a supervised practicum, you can access exceptionally skilled counselling at a more accessible rate—without compromising quality.

Absolutely. All our practicum students are Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) ensuring they meet professional standards and ethical requirements. They are now pursuing ADDITIONAL education, training and supervised practice.
-
Supervision means your counsellor regularly consults with a registered psychologist about your case (maintaining confidentiality). The supervising psychologist is responsible for your care and will oversee all elements of the care you receive. This provides an additional layer of professional oversight. You will be supported not just by one, but by two clinical minds: your counsellor and their supervisor.
-
Our reduced rate reflects our training program structure. While you receive fully professional services, the educational component allows us to offer more accessible pricing. This is our commitment to both offering lower cost counselling services to the community in an effort to make it more accessible, while also supporting the development of future mental health professionals.
By working with a doctoral practicum student you will also be supporting the development of future mental health professionals while receiving quality care.
-
Possibly. Some plans may cover services for psychological services “directly” supervised by a registered psychologist. Other plans will cover sessions with an RCC who is also receiving supervision. Please check with your extended health insurance provider.
