Being and Becoming was founded by Margaret Brennan, PhD, a Licensed Psychologist with over a decade of clinical experience in BC and Alberta. The practice takes a trauma-informed, evidence-based, and anti-oppressive approach to mental health and wellness care.
What We Treat
Being and Becoming provides evidence-based treatment for trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress and burnout, and relationship and couples difficulties. The practice serves children, adolescents, adults, and couples.
Being and Becoming also specializes in eating disorders, body image concerns, disordered eating, and emotional eating, taking a weight-inclusive, non-diet, HAES-informed approach to eating disorder recovery and nutrition support. Eating disorder treatment covers anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and the full spectrum of disordered eating.
Our Integrated Model
Being and Becoming offers an integrated model of care that brings together mental health therapy and registered dietitian services within the same practice. Clients can work simultaneously with a therapist and a registered dietitian, with coordinated, collaborative care across disciplines. This integrated approach is particularly valuable for eating disorder treatment and recovery.
